About Technoplast 

Technoplast is focused on manufacturing board edge banding products with a variety of materials, properties and methods of treatment. PVC profile, PVC edge banding and melamine edge banding are items which have been introduced by Technoplast onto the Russian market. Our innovative approach to manufacturing has enabled us to make high quality products at low cost.

Experience

Seven years ago TECHNOPLAST CO. LTD moved its main production facilities to China in order to retain competitive prices for its products in the international market. Today many well-known Western companies manufacture goods in China and many goods produced in China now bear prestigious trademarks. The existing thermoplastics factory, which passed into the hands of the US investors in 1998, has been completely retrofitted and, in addition, TECHNOPLAST has invested $20 million in the construction of a new state-of-the-art facility, which was put into operation in January 2000. In 2005 the company's turnover was $120 million.
In 2006 the company acquired an equity stake in a finish foil and melamine edge banding factory. Since that moment paper-based edge banding has been added to the company's product line. Currently the company can offer a full range of furniture banding materials.

Strategy

TECHNOPLAST's key marketing concept in gaining new market access is to consider local requirements for edge banding products (size, colour and softness).
There is no standard all-purpose line of TECHNOPLAST products. And according to James Lay, TECHNOPLAST engineering director, it is currently impossible since each market requires a particular approach and detailed design effort. The company's professionals are confident that they have managed to make products which satisfy the demands of furniture manufacturers all over the world.

Quality

The full range of TECHNOPLAST products has all appropriate certificates and meets the appropriate international quality standards. Strict inspection methods are applied to incoming raw materials in the factories. Production departments are equipped with video cameras. Finished products are tested by an independent laboratory.
Ease of installation, attractive appearance and above all the price and consumer properties of TECHNOPLAST products are comparable to those of products by the leading players on the edge banding market.
